Tax Senior Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a tax senior manager in Florida?
Most tax senior manager roles in Florida require an active CPA license issued or recognized by the Florida Board of Accountancy, which oversees licensure through a combination of education, the Uniform CPA Examination, and experience requirements. Candidates typically hold a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or taxation. From there, the path runs through staff and manager-level roles in public accounting or corporate tax, building the technical depth and leadership experience Florida employers expect at the senior manager level.
How much do tax senior managers make in Florida?
Tax senior managers in Florida earn a median of about $79,250 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,280 for the lowest 10% to over $131,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire tax senior managers in Florida?
Employers hiring tax senior managers in Florida right now include Kaufman Rossin, CBIZ, and KPMG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of multinational corporations, financial institutions, and large regional accounting firms keeps demand for this role consistently active across the state.
Which Florida cities have the most tax senior manager jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Boca Raton account for the greatest concentration of tax senior manager openings in Florida. Miami leads due to its density of multinational corporations, international banking, and large public accounting offices serving cross-border clients, while Tampa and Orlando generate steady demand through corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and the regional offices of the Big Four and other national firms.
Are there remote tax senior manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. Tax senior manager work is largely analytical and advisory, making it well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 55% of tax senior manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly the profession has adopted flexible models. Federal and state tax compliance, research, and planning work tend to be the most remote-eligible functions within the role.
How can I get hired as a tax senior manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a staff accountant or tax associate role at a Florida public accounting firm, where structured advancement programs build the technical and supervisory skills the senior manager level requires. Large Florida offices of firms like Grant Thornton, BDO, and RSM run formal associate and experienced-hire programs that develop candidates without direct managerial experience. Earning your CPA license through the Florida Board of Accountancy and adding exposure to corporate or partnership returns from adjacent roles in corporate finance or bookkeeping meaningfully strengthens your candidacy.
