Tax Professional Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax professional job in Los Angeles?
Target the sectors that drive the most local hiring: entertainment and media companies clustered in Burbank and Hollywood, large real estate investment firms in Century City and Beverly Hills, and the financial services and wealth management firms concentrated on the Westside and in Downtown LA. CPA licensure gives you a clear edge, and experience with California-specific tax codes, multi-entity structures, or high-net-worth individuals is especially valued by Los Angeles employers.
Which companies hire tax professionals in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles tax professional roles are posted by CohnReznick, KPMG, and PwC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local market includes a wide mix of Big Four and regional public accounting firms, large entertainment studios, commercial real estate operators, and family office wealth managers.
Are there remote tax professional jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role, since client-facing public accounting positions and roles requiring access to sensitive physical documents tend to remain on-site. About 31% of tax professional openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with tax research, compliance review, and corporate tax provision work being the most commonly offered as flexible arrangements.
How can I get a tax professional job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a staff tax associate or tax intern role at one of the many mid-size regional accounting firms that recruit actively in Los Angeles, particularly those serving the entertainment, hospitality, or real estate sectors. Firms in El Segundo, Woodland Hills, and Downtown LA regularly hire candidates working toward their CPA, and seasonal tax preparer positions at local offices are a practical way to build your return and client service experience before pursuing a full-time role.
Which industries hire the most tax professionals in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles tax professional roles concentrate in Accounting & Auditing and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The city's combination of major entertainment studios, one of the largest commercial real estate markets in the country, and a dense cluster of high-net-worth individuals and family offices creates consistent, broad-based demand for tax expertise across those sectors.
