Tax Senior Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a tax senior manager job in Atlanta?
Focus your search on Atlanta's public accounting firms in Midtown and Buckhead, the corporate tax departments of Fortune 500 regional headquarters Downtown, and the fast-growing financial services and fintech sector centered around the Buckhead and Cumberland areas. Candidates who hold a CPA and bring Big Four or regional firm experience stand out most. Specializations in federal corporate tax, state and local tax, or international tax give you a concrete edge in Atlanta's competitive market.
Which companies hire tax senior managers in Atlanta?
Employers hiring tax senior managers in Atlanta right now include Koch, CohnReznick, and Deloitte, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Atlanta's employer mix runs from national public accounting practices and large corporate tax departments to privately held regional businesses scaling their in-house tax functions.
Are there remote tax senior manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though with limits, tax senior manager work is more remote-compatible than hands-on roles, but client-facing, audit-support, and team-leadership responsibilities typically require some in-office presence. About 72% of tax senior manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a market that has settled into flexible rather than fully remote arrangements. Research, compliance review, and return preparation tasks are the functions most often performed off-site.
How can I get a tax senior manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving up through a staff or senior associate role at one of Atlanta's regional or national public accounting firms in Midtown or Buckhead, where structured advancement timelines are common. Corporate tax departments at Atlanta-area headquarters also hire tax seniors who are on a clear manager track. Earning your CPA license, building a specialization in high-demand areas like state and local tax, and taking on supervisory project work accelerates the timeline considerably.
