Private Client Advisor Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a private client advisor in Georgia?
To become a private client advisor in Georgia, you typically need FINRA-administered licensing, specifically the Series 7 and either the Series 65 or Series 66, registered through the Georgia Secretary of State's Securities Division. Most roles require a bachelor's degree in a financial discipline. From there, candidates generally enter through associate advisor or relationship associate positions at banks or wealth management firms, building toward a full advisor role.
How much do private client advisors make in Georgia?
Private client advisors in Georgia earn a median of about $101,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,180 for the lowest 10% to over $367,640 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire private client advisors in Georgia?
Employers hiring private client advisors in Georgia right now include JPMorganChase and Marsh McLennan Agency, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's deep concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and major regional banks in the Atlanta metro means demand from both national institutions and Georgia-rooted firms remains consistent throughout the year.
Which Georgia cities have the most private client advisor jobs?
Marietta, Atlanta, and Savannah have the most private client advisor openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its density of private banking headquarters, family offices, and wealth management boutiques, while Alpharetta and Savannah draw openings from financial services campuses and coastal high-net-worth client bases that support dedicated advisory practices outside the core metro.
Are there remote private client advisor jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're limited, since the role is fundamentally relationship-driven and most firms expect in-person client contact. About 25% of private client advisor openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the bulk of those flexible arrangements applying to back-office planning support, financial planning analysis, or senior advisors with established portable books of business.
How can I get hired as a private client advisor in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a client associate or wealth management associate role at one of Atlanta's large bank-affiliated wealth divisions, such as those run by Truist, Wells Fargo, or Raymond James. These firms run structured development programs that pair new associates with senior advisors and provide study support for FINRA licensing. Candidates with a finance or economics degree who have already passed the Series 7 stand out immediately, as do those coming from financial planning, retail banking, or insurance roles.
Where can I find and apply to private client advisor jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to private client advisor jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across Atlanta, Savannah, Alpharetta, and other markets in the state. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization, then apply directly to each employer through the listing.
