Technical Intern Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technical intern job in Jacksonville?
Target Jacksonville's strongest hiring sectors: defense and aerospace contractors near NAS Jacksonville, regional banks and insurance firms Downtown, and health systems on the Southside. Candidates with hands-on project work, CAD or coding samples, and familiarity with government or regulated-industry environments stand out. Applying directly to mid-size contractors and financial services firms often moves faster than going through large national pipelines in this market.
Which companies hire technical interns in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville technical intern roles are posted by Ferrovial, Jacksonville Jaguars, and The Energy Authority and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's mix of defense primes, regional banks, logistics operations, and expanding health systems makes it a consistent market for technical intern openings across multiple disciplines.
Are there remote technical intern jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the type of work: lab, facilities, and hardware roles are almost always on-site, while data, IT support, and software-adjacent internships are more likely to offer flexibility. About 0% of technical intern openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Analytical and IT-focused intern roles with Jacksonville's financial services and logistics employers tend to offer the most remote options.
How can I get a technical intern job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is applying to internship programs at regional financial institutions and mid-size defense subcontractors, which regularly bring in candidates with coursework but no formal work history. Community college technical programs and partnerships with institutions like Florida State College at Jacksonville connect students directly to local employers. Building a portfolio of class projects or personal builds gives Jacksonville hiring managers something concrete to evaluate before an interview.

Jacksonville technical intern roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Aerospace & Defense, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's large military presence, its status as a regional financial hub, and the ongoing growth of its healthcare corridor all sustain consistent intern demand across those sectors.
