The Role
Latitude.sh, now part of Megaport, delivers dedicated bare metal and accelerated compute designed for high-performance, latency-sensitive workloads. As adoption accelerates across North America, we are expanding our technical depth to support growth.
As a Solution Architect, you will be the Latitude.sh compute technical expert supporting regional Megaport & Latitude Sales Teams. This is an overlay specialist role focused on translating customer workloads into optimized compute architectures, guiding technical evaluations, and ensuring customers adopt the right Latitude.sh solutions with confidence.
You’ll work side-by-side with Compute Sales Specialist and Account Managers to qualify opportunities, remove technical blockers, design workload-specific compute solutions, and support onboarding for early success. When customers need to understand CPUs, GPUs, bare metal performance, storage profiles, or deployment patterns, you are the primary advisor.
This role is compute-first focus, with network considerations supported in partnership with Megaport’s network Solution Architects when relevant.
What You’ll Be Doing
Technical Pre-Sales (Compute)
Lead all compute discovery, architecture design, sizing, and performance mapping for customer workloads.
Translate technical requirements into tailored bare metal, GPU/accelerated compute, and storage configurations.
Deliver technical demos, workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and proofs of concept.
Validate solution feasibility and ensure alignment with Latitude’s compute deployment model.
Build architecture documentation that drives clarity and accelerates customer decision-making.
Overlay Technical Support for Megaport Sales Teams
Act as the technical compute specialist embedded into Megaport Sales Pods, supporting opportunity qualification and deep technical discussions.
Bring credibility to conversations involving workload performance, scaling strategy, virtualization, containerization, or hybrid deployment models.
Collaborate with Megaport Solution Architects when cloud connectivity or network design is relevant, ensuring a unified customer approach.
Help Sales Executives position the combined Megaport + Latitude value proposition while staying anchored in compute expertise.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap direction.
Work with Latitude Procurement and Operations to confirm server availability, GPU/CPU classes, and deployment timelines.
Maintain accurate technical notes and solution details within CRM systems.
Contribute to internal documentation, technical enablement materials, and repeatable solution patterns.
Technical Customer Onboarding & Adoption
Support customers through evaluations, pilots, and onboarding with hands-on technical guidance.
Troubleshoot early-stage issues, validate workload performance, and ensure successful deployment.
Provide a smooth handoff into long-term success with well-defined architecture documentation.
Develop trusted customer relationships by understanding compute strategies and positioning Latitude.sh solutions effectively.
Increase customer adoption and expansion of Latitude.sh’s infrastructure offerings across the territory through hands-on technical support.
What We Are Looking For
4+ years in a technical customer-facing role (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Professional Services Engineer, or similar).
Strong hands-on expertise in bare metal compute, GPU/accelerated compute, server architecture, virtualization, and workload performance planning.
Understanding of compute buying cycles, solution selling, and sizing for performance-intensive workloads.
Knowledge of hybrid architectures, virtualization stacks, containerization, and provisioning workflows.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals to situate compute solutions within broader architectures.
- Experience collaborating with network architects when connectivity impacts workload success.

Technical Solutions Architect Jobs in San Francisco: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a technical solutions architect job in San Francisco?
Focus your search on San Francisco's SoMa and Mission Bay corridors, where cloud platforms, enterprise SaaS, and cybersecurity firms concentrate their technical hiring. Candidates with hands-on experience in cloud architecture, API integration, or pre-sales engineering stand out most in this market. Engaging with local tech communities and targeting companies that sell complex software to enterprise clients gives you a practical edge over candidates applying nationally.
Which companies hire technical solutions architects in San Francisco?
Companies currently hiring technical solutions architects in San Francisco include Amazon Web Services, Okta, and Salesforce, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. San Francisco's employer mix skews heavily toward B2B software vendors, cloud infrastructure providers, and fintech platforms that rely on technical solutions architects to support complex sales cycles and customer implementations.
Are there remote technical solutions architect jobs in San Francisco?
Yes, though many technical solutions architect roles require in-person engagement with clients or internal engineering teams, making fully remote positions less common than in purely analytical fields. About 33% of technical solutions architect openings tied to San Francisco are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote options most prevalent in pre-sales and post-sales advisory work rather than hands-on implementation roles.
How can I get a technical solutions architect job in San Francisco with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a solutions engineer or technical support role at one of San Francisco's many SaaS or cloud vendors, then transitioning internally once you've built client-facing and product expertise. Companies in the Salesforce ecosystem, Okta's partner network, and mid-size fintech platforms in the Financial District regularly hire junior technical roles that feed into architect tracks. Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP strengthen your candidacy significantly at this stage.
Which industries hire the most technical solutions architects in San Francisco?
The sectors hiring the most technical solutions architects in San Francisco are Technology & Software, Distribution & Wholesale, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. San Francisco's concentration of enterprise software companies and financial services technology firms creates sustained demand for technical solutions architects who can bridge complex product capabilities with client business needs.
