Mid Level Technical Solutions Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level technical solutions engineer job?
Lead with evidence of end-to-end ownership: implementations you drove independently, technical problems you diagnosed and resolved, and customers you supported through complex rollouts. Tailor your resume to show both technical depth and communication skills, since mid level roles are evaluated on how well you bridge product and client. Certifications in relevant platforms strengthen your candidacy against equally experienced applicants.
Which companies hire mid level technical solutions engineers?
Companies hiring mid level technical solutions engineers right now include Amazon, Google, and Vertiv, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this experience level, you'll find openings at software vendors, enterprise SaaS companies, managed service providers, and technology consultancies that need engineers who can manage client relationships alongside hands-on technical work.
Are there remote mid level technical solutions engineer jobs?
Yes, and the share is meaningful. About 50% of mid level technical solutions engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role's client-facing work translates well to video calls and screen-sharing sessions. Fully on-site positions tend to appear more often in industries where in-person implementation or lab access is required.
How do I move up to a mid level technical solutions engineer role?
The progression from entry level centers on accumulating ownership over time: starting with closely supervised implementations, then taking on full project cycles independently, and eventually driving technical scoping conversations with customers. Building depth in one or two core platforms, earning relevant certifications, and demonstrating measurable outcomes like reduced escalations or faster deployment cycles are the signals that make a mid level promotion or external hire compelling.
Which industries hire the most mid level technical solutions engineers?
Mid Level technical solutions engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they depend on technically fluent engineers who can navigate complex product ecosystems, manage demanding enterprise clients, and reduce the load on senior staff by handling implementations with limited escalation.
