Job Summary
Linmer Pro Services is looking for an experienced Commercial Door Technician to inspect, maintain, and repair door assemblies in hospitals and healthcare facilities. In this role, you’ll help keep patients, staff, and visitors safe by making sure fire doors, smoke doors, and egress doors meet life safety requirements.
You bring the hands-on commercial door experience; we’ll teach you the rest. We provide paid training on healthcare life safety standards (including NFPA 80 and NFPA 101) and support you in earning your fire door inspection certification. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills into a specialized, in-demand field.
Responsibilities
- Inspect fire-rated, smoke, and egress door assemblies in hospitals and healthcare facilities for life safety compliance
- Identify and document deficiencies such as damaged frames, improper gaps, faulty closers, latching issues, and missing or incorrect labels
- Perform repairs and adjustments to doors, frames, hinges, closers, exit devices, and other door hardware as needed
- Complete accurate inspection reports and repair records
- Work respectfully and safely in active patient care environments, following facility infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate findings clearly with facility managers and maintenance staff
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition
Qualifications
- [2+] years of experience installing, servicing, or repairing commercial doors and hardware
- Working knowledge of commercial door hardware (closers, hinges, exit devices, locksets, frames)
- Willingness to complete training and earn fire door inspection certification (company-supported)
- Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills
- Basic computer skills
- Saavy with using work order software systems to track all job tasks
- Professional, courteous demeanor in healthcare settings
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and meet facility health requirements (e.g., immunizations)
- Able to lift up to [50] lbs, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods
- Prior healthcare or life safety experience is a plus, but not required
Pay: $22.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
