The Historic Edgewater Beach Apartments Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experience Maintenance Engineer/ Skilled Multi- Trade Technician to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate is a versatile professional, holding Journeyman level certifications or equivalent experience across a wide range of trades incuding - Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, a commitment to qualify craftsmanship, and the ability to provide light supevision and training.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Maintenance Skills:
- Perform skilled work in the plumbing trade including installation, repair, and maintenance of water, drain, and waste systems.
- Execute electrical tasks, including the installation and repair of wiring, fixtures, control systems, and troubleshooting of electrical issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repair on HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).
- Perform general building maintenance and repair, including painting, plastering, and finish work.
- Apply woodworking skills for minor construction, repair of doors, frames, cabinetry, and fixtures.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide array of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
Leadership & Training:
- Provide light team leading and oversight for maintenance tasks as needed.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of junior technicians or maintenance staff in trade-specific skills and safety protocols.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Journeyman level certification or equivilent experience in combination of trades, demonstrating proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Proven expertise in general building maintenance, including painting, plastering, woodworking, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and train other effectively.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor, including working from ladders and in confined spaces.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full Time, 40 hours a week. Primarily day shift, with intermittent night shift availability required for urgent repairs or scheduled maintenance project.
- Compensation: Starting hourly rate $36.00. This is negotiable depending on experience.
