Therapist Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a therapist job in Seattle?
The strongest Seattle hiring comes from behavioral health agencies, integrated care clinics, and hospital-affiliated outpatient programs, particularly those serving King County's public mental health system. Candidates with experience in trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, or youth and family services have a clear edge here. Targeting Community Mental Health Centers in South Seattle and group practices in Capitol Hill or Fremont gets you in front of the highest-volume employers.
Which companies hire therapists in Seattle?
Companies currently hiring therapists in Seattle include University Of Washington, EmpowerMe Wellness, and Seattle Children's, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's therapist market is shaped by a mix of large regional health systems, county-contracted behavioral health agencies, and a growing number of tech-sector employee assistance program providers concentrated in South Lake Union.
Are there remote therapist jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role, since most clinical therapist positions require direct client contact and are tied to a licensed facility or practice setting. About 16% of therapist openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and the majority of those are teletherapy roles with platforms serving Washington-licensed providers. Case management, utilization review, and EAP counseling positions are the most consistently remote-eligible in the Seattle market.
How can I get a therapist job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through a paid practicum, internship, or associate-level role with a county-contracted agency or community health center, where supervision toward licensure is often built into the position. Neighborcare Health, DESC, and King County Behavioral Health and Recovery Division regularly hire associate-level clinicians. Candidates who have completed supervised hours in Seattle's public behavioral health system and hold an associate license under LICSW or LMHC supervision are most competitive for permanent roles.
Which industries hire the most therapists in Seattle?
Most therapist openings in Seattle sit in Healthcare & Medical Services and Non-Profit & Social Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Seattle's density of hospital networks, county behavioral health contracts, and tech-company EAP partnerships makes healthcare, government-funded social services, and corporate wellness the dominant hiring sectors for therapists in the region.
