Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Bagger
Verify your role qualifies for TN
The TN visa covers only occupations listed in the USMCA appendix. Bagger positions do not meet the specialty occupation threshold, so confirm whether a related role you hold, such as food scientist or agricultural inspector, qualifies instead.
Research employers with recent visa filings
Target food manufacturing, logistics, and packaging companies with recent visa filings, as this shows they're experienced with sponsoring work visas. Employers in these sectors who have sponsored visas for adjacent professional roles are more likely to understand the sponsorship process for skilled positions in your industry. When approaching these employers, be prepared to present your credentials and the job offer support letter at the port of entry (for Canadian applicants) or U.S. consulate (for Mexican applicants).
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-eligible positions
Search Migrate Mate to find employers actively offering TN sponsorship for roles in food science, quality control, or supply chain management that may align with your packaging or production background.
Prepare credential documentation for border processing
Canadian citizens apply for TN status directly at a port of entry with CBP, without a prior USCIS petition. Bring your degree transcripts, a support letter from the employer, and proof the offered role meets a listed USMCA occupation before your crossing.
Understand Mexican nationals face a separate filing process
Unlike Canadians, Mexican TN applicants must apply at a U.S. consulate and obtain a visa stamp before entering. Start the consular appointment process early, as wait times vary significantly by location and time of year.

Find Bagger JobsBagger TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does the bagger job title qualify for a TN visa?
No. Bagger is not a listed occupation under the USMCA TN visa appendix. TN eligibility requires the role to fall within a specific professional category, most of which require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. A bagger position does not meet that threshold regardless of employer or industry.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for packaging or bagger-adjacent roles?
The H-1B also requires a specialty occupation with a bachelor's degree requirement, so bagger roles face the same disqualification. The TN has no lottery and is faster to obtain for Canadians at the border, but neither visa applies to non-professional positions. Both require the job itself to qualify, not just the applicant's credentials.
What visa options exist for Canadian or Mexican nationals in packaging or food production roles?
If your role is a non-professional production position, the TN and H-1B are not available. Depending on the employer and your duties, H-2B temporary non-agricultural worker visas or H-2A agricultural visas may apply. Canadians with managerial or executive responsibilities in qualifying companies may also explore the TN under specific business categories.
How can I find U.S. employers experienced with visa sponsorship for Bagger roles?
Migrate Mate lists employers with active TN visa sponsorship histories across food science, supply chain, and quality assurance roles. If your background includes work that maps to a listed USMCA occupation, searching by relevant job function on Migrate Mate helps you target employers already familiar with the TN process.
Can a Canadian apply for TN status at the border without a job in a listed occupation?
No. CBP officers at the port of entry will deny TN status if the job offered does not correspond to a USMCA-listed occupation. You must present documentation showing the role qualifies and that you meet the educational or credential requirements for that specific category. Attempting entry for a non-qualifying role risks a formal refusal record.
