Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as an Echocardiographer
Verify your credentials match TN requirements
TN classification for echocardiographers requires a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in a relevant field plus active ARDMS or CCI credentials. Confirm your certification is current before approaching any employer, because a lapsed credential disqualifies the petition outright.
Target hospitals with established sonography departments
Large health systems, academic medical centers, and cardiology group practices file TN petitions routinely. Focus your search on employers with dedicated cardiovascular imaging departments, where HR teams already understand the documentation a TN sponsorship requires for allied health professionals.
Ask employers to specify your SOC code correctly
Misclassification under a general diagnostic sonographer code rather than the cardiovascular sonographer code creates delays at the border or consulate. Before your employer drafts the support letter, confirm they're referencing the correct occupational classification for echocardiography specifically.
Use Migrate Mate to filter TN-sponsoring employers
Searching broadly wastes time on employers unfamiliar with work visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces echocardiographer roles at employers with recent visa filings, so you're only applying where the sponsorship infrastructure is already in place and the employer has demonstrated experience supporting visa-sponsored workers.
Prepare for Canadian border entry with complete documentation
Canadian citizens don't need a visa appointment because TN status is granted at the port of entry. Bring the employer support letter, your degree credentials, ARDMS or CCI certificate, and the job offer in writing. CBP officers can and do deny entry for incomplete files.
Understand Mexican applicants must go through consular processing
If you're a Mexican citizen, TN classification requires a visa interview at a U.S. consulate rather than border admission. Schedule your DS-160 appointment early, because consular wait times for nonimmigrant visa interviews vary significantly by location and season.

Find Echocardiographer JobsEchocardiographer TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does echocardiographer qualify as a TN visa occupation?
Yes. Cardiovascular sonographers and echocardiographers qualify under the USMCA's Medical/Allied Professional category. You need a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in a relevant field, an active credential from ARDMS or CCI, and a job offer from a U.S. employer. The role must involve specialized echocardiographic duties, not general diagnostic imaging work.
How does TN compare to H-1B for echocardiographer positions?
TN has no annual lottery, no employer registration fee cycle, and no cap for Canadian citizens, making it far more predictable than H-1B for echocardiographers who qualify. H-1B selection is randomized, delays can stretch a year or more, and approval is never guaranteed. If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and meet the USMCA credential requirements, TN is typically the faster and more reliable path.
What credentials do I need for an employer to sponsor my TN visa?
You need an active ARDMS credential in Adult Echocardiography (AE) or a CCI-issued RCS or RCCS credential, plus a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree. Some employers also require state-level sonography licensure where applicable. Your employer's support letter must document both your degree and your active credential to satisfy CBP or consular review.
How do I find echocardiographer jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job searches don't filter for sponsorship willingness, which means you'll spend significant time on employers who've never worked with visa-sponsored professionals. Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals and surfaces echocardiographer roles at employers with recent visa filings, saving you the guesswork. These employers have demonstrated experience navigating work visa sponsorship, making them more likely to understand the TN process and support your application at the port of entry or consulate.
Can I switch echocardiographer employers while on TN status?
Yes, but TN status is employer-specific. You can't start working for a new employer until the new TN is approved. Canadian citizens can obtain the new TN at a port of entry with the new employer's documentation before their last day. Mexican citizens need a new consular appointment. Timing the transition carefully avoids any gap in authorized status.
