Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Food and Beverage Manager
Document your supervisory scope precisely
TN approval for F&B Manager roles hinges on demonstrating management duties, not just operational ones. List direct reports, budget authority, and P&L responsibility in your resume before applying. Vague job descriptions get denied.
Target multi-unit operators over independent restaurants
Hotel groups, casino resorts, and contract food service companies file TN petitions regularly and have HR teams familiar with the process. Single-location operators often don't know the TN exists and may decline sponsorship reflexively.
Request a support letter covering all three USMCA criteria
Your employer's offer letter must confirm your title, the professional nature of the role, and your Canadian or Mexican citizenship as the basis for TN eligibility. Missing any one element causes CBP to question the filing at the border.
Search TN-eligible roles at visa-sponsoring employers
F&B Manager postings rarely advertise TN sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with recent visa filings in hospitality and food service, so you're applying to companies already experienced with sponsoring work visas and likely equipped to support your TN application process.
Prepare for degree-equivalent scrutiny at the border
If your credential is a culinary diploma or a college certificate rather than a four-year degree, carry a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized organization. CBP officers assess educational equivalency on the spot for management-track TN applicants.
Understand Mexican applicants face a separate consular track
Mexican citizens cannot use the port-of-entry process available to Canadians. You'll schedule an interview at a U.S. consulate, where wait times and documentation standards differ. Confirm your employer knows this timeline before you accept an offer.

Find Food and Beverage Manager JobsFood and Beverage Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Food and Beverage Manager role actually qualify for a TN visa?
It can qualify under the Management Consultant or, in some cases, the Scientific Technician category, but the job duties must reflect genuine managerial authority: overseeing staff, controlling budgets, and making operational decisions. Roles that are primarily hands-on service or supervisory without strategic responsibility are more likely to be questioned at the border or during consular review.
How does the TN visa compare to H-1B for Food and Beverage Manager positions?
The TN has no annual lottery and no cap for Canadian citizens, so you can apply any time a qualifying job offer exists. H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery with a low selection rate and a defined filing window each spring. For F&B Manager roles that meet the TN's professional criteria, TN is a faster and more predictable path than waiting on H-1B lottery results.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for TN sponsorship?
Your employer must provide a signed support letter on company letterhead confirming your job title, a description of duties that demonstrates professional-level management work, your Canadian or Mexican citizenship as the basis for TN eligibility, and the anticipated length of employment. The letter must accompany your application at the port of entry or consulate. It replaces the formal petition required under H-1B.
Where can I find Food and Beverage Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most F&B Manager postings don't advertise TN sponsorship directly, which makes filtering by employer history essential. Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for employers with TN filing records in hospitality and food service, so you can target companies already familiar with the process rather than educating each employer from scratch during the interview.
Can I switch Food and Beverage Manager employers while on a TN visa?
Yes, but you need a new TN authorization before starting work with the new employer. Canadian citizens can obtain a new TN at a port of entry with the new employer's support letter. Mexican citizens must return to a U.S. consulate. Your current TN does not automatically transfer, and working for a new employer before receiving authorization violates your status.
