Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Promotions Manager
Align your degree to marketing credentials
TN status for Promotions Managers falls under the Marketing professional category. Your degree must be in marketing, business administration, or a closely related field. A degree in an unrelated discipline, even with years of experience, will not satisfy the USCIS category requirement.
Target employers experienced with visa sponsorship
Search for companies with recent visa filings in marketing and promotions roles. Employers experienced with sponsoring work visas tend to move faster and are less likely to hesitate at the offer stage over sponsorship concerns.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Ask explicitly whether the employer will cover TN filing costs and whether they have in-house counsel or an immigration firm on retainer. Promotions Manager roles often sit in mid-sized marketing departments where TN processes are handled ad hoc, creating delays if roles aren't clearly defined.
Prepare a role-specific duty letter early
Your employer's support letter must describe your duties in terms that map directly to the Marketing TN category. Generic job descriptions referencing 'team leadership' or 'cross-functional collaboration' without tying responsibilities to promotional strategy and campaign management can draw scrutiny at the port of entry or consulate.
Use Migrate Mate to identify TN-ready employers
Migrate Mate surfaces Promotions Manager roles from employers with recent visa filings, so you spend less time screening and more time applying to companies already experienced with work visa sponsorship. Filter by role and location to find active openings that match your marketing background.
Understand the Mexican TN consular process timeline
Mexican citizens must schedule a consular interview at a U.S. embassy or consulate rather than presenting at the border. Build in two to four weeks for appointment availability and document review. Confirm your DS-160 is completed and your employer's support letter is finalized before booking.

Find Promotions Manager JobsPromotions Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Promotions Manager role qualify for TN visa status?
Yes, provided your employer frames the role under the USMCA's Marketing professional category and your duties center on planning, developing, or managing promotional campaigns. The role must require a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a directly related field. Roles where promotional work is incidental to a broader general management position may not qualify without a carefully drafted duty letter.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Promotions Manager positions?
TN is generally faster and more predictable for Promotions Managers. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadian citizens, and approval can happen at the port of entry the same day. H-1B requires a March registration, a lottery selection, and a six-month wait before the October 1 start date. If you qualify under USMCA, TN is the more direct path to starting work.
Can I switch Promotions Manager employers on a TN visa?
You can change employers, but TN status is employer-specific and does not transfer automatically. Your new employer must prepare a fresh set of TN documents, including a support letter describing your duties and a new I-129 petition or port-of-entry presentation. You should not start work for the new employer until the new TN authorization is in place.
Where can I find Promotions Manager jobs with TN visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking U.S. roles with TN visa sponsorship. You can search Promotions Manager openings filtered by employers with recent visa filings, which removes the guesswork of cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the sponsorship process.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for my TN application as a Promotions Manager?
Your employer needs to provide a detailed support letter on company letterhead that describes your job title, duties, qualifications, and the professional category under USMCA. For Canadian citizens applying at the border, this letter plus your credential documents are typically sufficient. Mexican citizens also need a completed DS-160, a visa fee payment receipt, and a consular appointment. USCIS recommends the I-129 route for employer-filed petitions.
