Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Sales And Marketing Manager
Frame your credentials around TN categories
Sales and Marketing Manager roles don't map to a single TN category. Review whether your offer letter describes Management Consultant or Marketing duties, then align your degree documentation to whichever category fits the actual responsibilities.
Target employers with cross-border hiring history
Companies that have hired TN professionals before understand the process and won't stall on sponsorship. Look for U.S. employers operating in Canada or Mexico, or those already enrolled in E-Verify, which signals familiarity with work authorization compliance.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-ready employers
Searching general job boards surfaces roles with no sponsorship pathway. Migrate Mate filters specifically for employers open to TN visa sponsorship in Sales and Marketing Manager roles, saving time you'd otherwise spend on dead-end outreach.
Secure an offer letter that mirrors TN language
CBP officers at the Canadian border assess TN eligibility on the spot. Your offer letter must describe duties matching the TN category precisely. Generic titles like 'manager' without function-specific language frequently trigger follow-up questions or denials.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
Mexican professionals holding a licenciatura must have a credential evaluation confirming U.S. bachelor's equivalency before the consular appointment. Getting that evaluation done after receiving your offer letter delays the timeline by two to four weeks.
Anticipate the management versus consulting distinction
Employers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) treat management roles differently from consulting engagements. If your role involves directing internal staff full-time, the Management Consultant TN category may face scrutiny at the port of entry. Restructuring duties toward advisory or project-based framing often resolves the ambiguity during your TN application presentation.

Find Sales And Marketing Manager JobsSales And Marketing Manager TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales and Marketing Manager role qualify for a TN visa?
Yes, but the fit depends on how the role is defined. TN visa categories don't include a generic 'manager' classification. Sales and Marketing Manager roles typically qualify under Management Consultant or Marketing, depending on whether the position involves advisory functions, market strategy, or direct staff management. Your offer letter's language determines which category applies, so getting that framing right before applying matters.
How does TN compare to H-1B for Sales and Marketing Manager positions?
TN is significantly more practical for this role. There's no annual lottery, no cap for Canadians, and no multi-month waiting period. H-1B requires a spring lottery and USCIS petition approval before you can start, which can add six to twelve months to your timeline. TN allows Canadian citizens to begin work almost immediately after border approval, while Mexican citizens go through consular processing, which is still faster than the H-1B cycle.
Can Mexican nationals apply for TN status as Sales and Marketing Managers?
Yes, but the process differs from the Canadian pathway. Mexican citizens apply for a TN visa at a U.S. consulate rather than at the border. You'll need a valid job offer, documentation confirming your degree meets TN requirements, and an offer letter that maps to an approved TN category. Mexico has a separate annual TN allocation, though it has not historically been exhausted.
How do I find Sales and Marketing Manager jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most employers listing Sales and Marketing Manager roles don't specify visa sponsorship in their postings, which makes targeted searching difficult on general job boards. Migrate Mate is built specifically for TN-eligible professionals and filters employers open to TN sponsorship, so you're not guessing whether a company will support your status. That specificity matters when you have limited time on your current authorization.
What happens if my Sales and Marketing Manager duties span both qualifying TN categories?
You can only enter under one TN category per admission, so you'll need to identify the primary function of your role. If your duties genuinely split between marketing strategy and management consulting, work with your employer to define which function represents the majority of your time and responsibilities. CBP will evaluate based on the offer letter, so clarity there is what prevents complications at the border or consulate.
