About CCU
Colorado Christian University is the premier interdenominational Christian university in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, delivering world class education to thousands of students. The fully accredited, nonprofit University is located in Lakewood, Colorado, a suburb of Denver.
Colorado Christian University was founded in 1914. CCU’s motto is grace and truth. This motto comes from John 1:14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (ESV)
CCU's mission is Christ-centered higher education transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth.
Colorado Christian University cultivates knowledge and love of God in a Christ-centered community of learners and scholars, with an enduring commitment to the integration of exemplary academics, spiritual formation, and engagement with the world. We envision graduates who think critically and creatively, lead with high ethical and professional standards, embody the character and compassion of Jesus Christ, treasure the gospel, and who thereby are prepared to impact the world in their callings.
CCU embraces an educational model that was present at the foundation of many of the great western and American universities. It is made up of three pillars—competence, character and Christ-centered faith. Secular universities have abandoned two of those pillars. We think this is a major oversight that eventually undermines education. Furthermore, we believe this classical educational model is both life-giving and greatly needed in our time.
A leader in higher education, CCU has been consistently ranked in the top 2 percent of colleges and universities nationwide for its core curriculum by the American Council of Trustees and Alumni. CCU has had ten consecutive years of enrollment growth and has been named one of the five fastest-growing master’s granting universities by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
CCU offers more than 200 degree program options for traditional and adult students through its two colleges—the College of Undergraduate Studies and College of Adult and Graduate Studies. More than 8,000 students attend the University on the main campus, in regional centers throughout Colorado, and online.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding TN Visa Sponsorship as a Training And Development
Match your credentials to the right TN category
Training and Development roles can qualify under two TN categories depending on duties. If you design curricula or instruct, the Teacher category may apply. If you advise on organizational performance, Management Consultant is the right fit. Choosing the wrong category is the most common filing error.
Document your training specialization before applying
Employers evaluating TN candidates want proof your degree aligns with the role. Gather transcripts, certifications like CPTD or ATD credentials, and a portfolio showing instructional design or facilitation work. Vague credentials slow sponsorship decisions considerably.
Target employers with dedicated L&D departments
Large healthcare systems, financial institutions, and technology firms maintain in-house training functions and are experienced with professional visa sponsorship. Smaller employers often lack the HR infrastructure to navigate TN filing, making the process slower and less predictable for you.
Use Migrate Mate to find TN-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify companies actively hiring Training and Development professionals with TN visa sponsorship. Filtering by visa type saves time and connects you with employers who already understand the process, not those encountering it for the first time.
Get your offer letter to specify TN-qualifying duties
CBP officers review your offer letter at the port of entry. It must explicitly state your job title, duties, and required qualifications in terms that map to a recognized TN category. Generic HR offer letters without this detail frequently result in TN denials or delays.
Understand Mexican applicants face a separate consular step
Unlike Canadians who can obtain TN status directly at a port of entry, Mexican citizens must schedule a visa interview at a U.S. consulate. Build four to eight weeks into your timeline before your start date to account for appointment availability and processing.

Find Training And Development JobsTraining And Development TN Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Training and Development role qualify for TN visa sponsorship?
Yes, but the qualifying category depends on your specific duties. Roles focused on instructing or facilitating learning programs may qualify under the Teacher category, while roles advising organizations on workforce performance often qualify under Management Consultant. Your employer's offer letter must clearly describe duties that match whichever category you claim at the border or consulate.
How does TN visa sponsorship compare to H-1B for Training and Development professionals?
TN is generally faster and more predictable than H-1B for this field. H-1B requires surviving an annual lottery, which has a selection rate well below 50%. TN has no lottery or annual cap for Canadians and no wait for a quota number. You can start work as soon as TN status is granted, sometimes the same day for Canadian applicants at a port of entry.
What documents does your employer need to prepare for TN sponsorship?
Your employer needs to provide a signed offer letter that specifies your job title, salary, employment start date, and a description of duties tied to a TN-qualifying category. They don't file a petition with USCIS the way they would for H-1B. For Canadian applicants, the letter goes directly to CBP at the port of entry. For Mexican applicants, it supports your consular visa application.
Where can you find Training and Development jobs that offer TN visa sponsorship?
Most general job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you spend significant time on employers unfamiliar with or unwilling to support TN. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you identify companies actively hiring in Training and Development with TN visa sponsorship already confirmed, so you can focus your applications where they're likely to succeed.
Can you renew TN status in a Training and Development role indefinitely?
TN status is granted in increments of up to three years and can be renewed without a cap on total renewals, as long as you continue working in a qualifying role for a sponsoring employer. There's no maximum time limit, unlike some other nonimmigrant visa categories. If you change employers, your new employer must support a new TN application before you begin work.
