Position Summary
KKR is seeking a Head of Insurance Treasury Operations to lead and modernize treasury operations across its insurance platform, with a focus on Global Atlantic and the connectivity between KKR’s insurance and asset management businesses. The role will be reporting to the Global Head of Treasury and responsible for ensuring accurate cash positioning, robust liquidity forecasting, trade date cash forecasting, funding coordination, drawdown execution, and strong treasury controls.
A key priority will be to modernize the treasury operating model by leveraging data, AI, automation, and scalable infrastructure consistent with KKR’s broader technology and innovation agenda. The successful candidate will also help bring together operating platforms across insurance and asset management, helping create a more connected and commercially aligned treasury function.
Responsibilities
Treasury Operations, Forecasting, and Funding
- Lead insurance treasury operations, including cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, forecasting, bank account activity, funding flows, and reporting.
- Ensure cash balances are accurately represented across accounts, entities, systems, and reporting outputs.
- Own liquidity and trade date cash forecasting, using the best available inputs from upstream business, investment, finance, actuarial, portfolio management, and operations teams.
- Oversee funding flows, including drawdowns, capital calls, distributions, investment funding, intercompany movements, and related cash activity.
- Ensure funding and drawdown processes are well controlled, clearly defined, and executed accurately and on time.
Data, AI, Automation, and Platform Connectivity
- Modernize insurance treasury infrastructure by moving toward a more automated, data-led, and AI-enabled operating model.
- Improve data quality, system connectivity, dashboards, forecasting tools, workflow automation, and exception management.
- Bring together treasury operating platforms and processes across insurance and asset management.
- Partner with Global Atlantic, KKR Treasury, Investment Operations, Portfolio Management, Finance, Technology, and commercial teams to create a more integrated and scalable treasury model.
Governance, Controls, and Risk Management
- Maintain a strong governance and controls framework for insurance treasury.
- Ensure processes are documented, repeatable, auditable, and appropriately controlled.
- Identify operational, liquidity, settlement, counterparty, data, and process risks, and drive remediation where needed.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, and other stakeholders on reviews, audits, and control assessments.
Team Leadership and Talent Development
- Lead, manage, and develop the insurance treasury team.
- Build team capability, accountability, and a high-performance operating culture.
- Set priorities, manage capacity, and ensure the team can support both day-to-day execution and broader platform transformation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate and/or postgraduate level education with a strong academic record; CTP, CFA, CPA, or MBA a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in treasury, liquidity management, cash management, finance operations, or investment operations, with progressive leadership responsibility.
- Experience in insurance (life/annuity or reinsurance preferred), asset management, alternatives, private markets, banking, or another complex financial services environment; exposure to both insurance balance sheet and asset management cash flows strongly preferred.
- Deep working knowledge of cash positioning, liquidity and trade-date cash forecasting, funding flows, drawdowns, capital calls, distributions, intercompany movements, and bank account structures.
- Strong understanding of asset classes relevant to an insurance general account and alternatives platform — including private credit, structured products, MBS/ABS, public fixed income, equities, and FX/securities settlement.
- Demonstrated track record modernizing treasury or finance operating models through data, automation, workflow redesign, cloud-based platforms, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Hands-on familiarity with Treasury Management Systems (e.g., Kyriba, GTreasury, FIS Quantum, or equivalent), modern payment infrastructure (SWIFT, host-to-host, real-time payments), and data/BI tooling (data lake/warehouse, Tableau/Power BI, Python or SQL a plus).
- Experience managing outsourced service providers, banks, custodians, and payment partners.
- Proven people leadership experience, including building, developing, and managing high-performing teams across locations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Finance, Investments, Operations, Treasury, Technology, Risk, Tax, Legal, and senior leadership.
- Strong risk and controls mindset, with experience in SOX, internal audit, and regulatory environments relevant to insurance and asset management.

LI-ONSITE
This is the expected annual base salary range for this New York-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
