Entry Level Ultrasonographer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ultrasonographer job?
Start by completing an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program and earning ARDMS registry eligibility, since most entry level postings list registry-eligible or newly certified candidates as qualified applicants. Hands-on clinical hours from your program carry significant weight at this stage. Targeting hospital systems, outpatient imaging centers, and OB-GYN practices that explicitly welcome new graduates or candidates with under two years of experience sharpens your focus considerably.
Which companies hire entry level ultrasonographers?
Companies hiring entry level ultrasonographers right now include UF Health, Dartmouth Health, and CoxHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital networks, regional health systems, and outpatient imaging groups that have structured onboarding and mentorship for newly certified sonographers.
Are there remote entry level ultrasonographer jobs?
Yes, though remote roles are limited at this stage since hands-on patient scanning is core to the work. About 0% of entry level ultrasonographer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these are typically telesonography review or quality assurance roles that some employers offer to candidates who have already built foundational clinical skills.
Are these new grad ultrasonographer jobs?
Yes, the openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior ultrasonographer roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts registry-eligible candidates, or counts accredited clinical internship and practicum hours toward the experience requirement. Look for language like "new grad welcome" or "training provided" as reliable signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level ultrasonographers?
Entry Level ultrasonographer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they combine high patient volume with the structured supervision and credentialing support that newly certified sonographers need to build clinical competency.
