Entry Level Nephrologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level nephrologist job?
Complete your nephrology fellowship and obtain board certification or eligibility, as most entry level positions require both. Demonstrating hands-on experience with dialysis management, chronic kidney disease care, and inpatient consults during training gives candidates a clear edge. Strong references from fellowship program directors and a record of presentations or research, even early-stage work, help distinguish new applicants in a competitive hiring pool.
Which companies hire entry level nephrologists?
Companies hiring entry level nephrologists right now include Prime Healthcare Services, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and Virginia Commonwealth University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from health systems, large multispecialty group practices, dialysis networks, and academic medical centers that build their nephrology rosters by bringing on fellowship graduates directly.
Are there remote entry level nephrologist jobs?
Yes, though most nephrology roles require in-person patient care. About 11% of entry level nephrologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically covering telenephrology consultations or chronic disease management for health systems that support distributed care models. Fully remote positions remain rare but are growing in large integrated networks.
Are these new grad nephrologist jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior nephrologist roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of post-fellowship experience, accepts candidates who are board-eligible rather than board-certified, or explicitly values fellowship training and internship rotations over an established independent practice history.
Which industries hire the most entry level nephrologists?
Entry Level nephrologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high patient volumes in kidney disease management, inpatient acute care, and outpatient dialysis services, creating consistent demand for fellowship graduates ready to step into supervised or early-career attending roles.
