Entry Level Clinical Medical Assistant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level clinical medical assistant job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for a completed medical assistant program or certification such as CMA or RMA, hands-on externship hours, and comfort with clinical tasks like taking vitals, drawing blood, and assisting with exams. A strong externship record, a clean and specific resume, and willingness to train on the employer's EHR system give new candidates a real edge over others at the same experience level.
Which companies hire entry level clinical medical assistants?
Companies hiring entry level clinical medical assistants right now include MultiCare Health System, Lehigh Valley Health Network, and Fast Pace Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hospitals, multi-specialty outpatient clinics, and urgent care networks tend to hire most actively at this level because they train new staff on their own protocols and equipment.
Are there remote entry level clinical medical assistant jobs?
Yes, though most clinical medical assistant work is hands-on and on-site. About 0% of entry level clinical medical assistant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles typically involve telehealth support, patient scheduling, or administrative coordination rather than direct patient care. Candidates open to on-site positions will find significantly more openings at this stage.
Are these new grad clinical medical assistant jobs?
Yes. These listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior clinical medical assistant roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts completed externship or clinical rotation hours in place of paid work history, and does not require prior employment as a medical assistant. Certifications earned during a training program count as qualifications at this level.
Which industries hire the most entry level clinical medical assistants?
Entry Level clinical medical assistant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate high patient volumes, run structured onboarding programs, and consistently backfill positions as experienced staff advance into senior or specialized clinical roles.
