Entry Level Maxillofacial Surgeon Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level maxillofacial surgeon job?
Entry level maxillofacial surgeon positions typically go to candidates who completed an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and hold the required state licensure. At this stage, documented case volume from your residency, strong letters from attending surgeons, and any fellowship or subspecialty exposure give you a real edge. Hospitals and oral surgery practices often prioritize candidates who can demonstrate hands-on competency even without years of independent practice.
Which companies hire entry level maxillofacial surgeons?
Companies hiring entry level maxillofacial surgeons right now include Geisinger Health Plan, Boston Children's Hospital, and Nova Southeastern University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a mix of hospital systems, academic medical centers, and multi-site oral surgery group practices that have structured onboarding for new graduates.
Are there remote entry level maxillofacial surgeon jobs?
Yes, though maxillofacial surgery is primarily a hands-on clinical specialty, so most roles require on-site work. About 0% of entry level maxillofacial surgeon openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve telemedicine consultations, pre-operative assessments, or administrative and research components rather than surgical procedures.
Are these new grad maxillofacial surgeon jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior maxillofacial surgeon roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of post-residency experience, accepts residency or fellowship training in place of independent practice history, or explicitly invites candidates who completed their surgical training within the past year or two to apply.
Which industries hire the most entry level maxillofacial surgeons?
Entry Level maxillofacial surgeon roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain surgical teams with regular turnover from retirements and practice growth, creating consistent openings for newly trained surgeons.
