Job Description:
The Employee Relations Specialist II serves as a mid-level HR professional responsible for supporting employee relations efforts and managing front desk operations. This role involves handling moderately complex employee concerns, assisting with investigations, and ensuring consistent application of HR policies. The position also oversees front desk procedures and provides administrative support to the HR team.Primary Duties
The Specialist II acts as a resource for employees and managers, helping to resolve workplace issue and support HR initiatives. This role bridges administrative and strategic HR functions.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Manage front desk operations and ensure a professional, welcoming environment.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with investigations into employee concerns and document findings.
- Support performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist with compliance reporting.
- Help develop and deliver training on workplace conduct and HR topics.
- Collaborate with HR team on employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred:
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR)
- 2+ years of experience in HR or employee relations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR practices
· Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills · Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion · Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Essential Mental and Physical Functions:
This role requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Frequent use of computer and phone
- Occasional lifting of office supplies or packages (up to 25 lbs)
