Entry Level Certified Athletic Trainer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level certified athletic trainer job?
Start by completing your BOC certification and highlighting any clinical rotations, practicum hours, or internship experience on your resume. Employers at the entry level prioritize hands-on clinical exposure, so detail the athlete populations and injury types you worked with. Applying to high schools, colleges, and sports medicine clinics is a strong first move, as those settings frequently bring on new graduates and junior candidates.
Which companies hire entry level certified athletic trainers?
Companies hiring entry level certified athletic trainers right now include Crunch Fitness, Resolution Think, and Indiana University Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, you'll find openings spread across school districts, university athletics departments, sports medicine clinics, and occupational health providers that regularly onboard junior staff.
Are there remote entry level certified athletic trainer jobs?
Yes, though most certified athletic trainer roles are hands-on and on-site by nature. About 3% of entry level certified athletic trainer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to involve telehealth triage, program coordination, or administrative functions rather than direct patient care.
Are these new grad certified athletic trainer jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior certified athletic trainer roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes candidates with zero to two years of experience and treats completed internships, clinical rotations, or a strong practicum portfolio as equivalent to work history, so new graduates are competitive for these openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level certified athletic trainers?
Entry Level certified athletic trainer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Sports & Recreation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain ongoing athlete or worker care programs that depend on a steady pipeline of newly certified professionals to fill staff positions.
