Entry Level Registered Nurse Operating Room Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level registered nurse operating room job?
Start by targeting hospitals and surgical centers that run new graduate perioperative residency or nurse residency programs, which are designed to bring entry level RNs into the OR without prior scrub or circulating experience. Highlight any clinical rotation time in surgical settings, certifications like BLS or ACLS, and familiarity with sterile technique. A cover letter that addresses your eagerness to specialize in perioperative care helps you stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level registered nurse operating rooms?
Companies hiring entry level registered nurse operating rooms right now include American Traveler, Banner Health, and Penn State Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level covers large health systems with structured nurse residency programs, community hospitals building their OR teams, and ambulatory surgical centers looking for trainable recent graduates.
Are there remote entry level registered nurse operating room jobs?
Yes, though the majority of OR nursing roles are hands-on and on-site by nature. About 0% of entry level registered nurse operating room openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve perioperative case coordination, pre-op patient education, or clinical documentation roles rather than direct scrubbing or circulating duties.
Are these new grad registered nurse operating room jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad registered nurse operating room roles that welcome zero to two years of experience, recent nursing graduates, and candidates with internship or clinical rotation backgrounds. A new-grad-friendly posting typically skips the requirement for prior OR experience, accepts a perioperative residency as on-the-job training, and values a portfolio of surgical clinical hours over a long employment history.
Which industries hire the most entry level registered nurse operating rooms?
Entry Level registered nurse operating room roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Staffing & Recruiting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive entry level OR hiring because surgical volume is high, perioperative residency programs are more established, and turnover creates consistent openings that teams are willing to fill with new graduates they can train.
