Entry Level Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physician job?
Completing a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation is the foundation, but what sets entry level candidates apart is how they present clinical experience from training. Employers at this level look for hands-on exposure to musculoskeletal, neurological, and rehabilitation cases, strong letters from supervising physicians, and board eligibility or certification. Rotations in inpatient rehabilitation units or outpatient clinics give new applicants a practical edge in a competitive field.
Which companies hire entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians?
Companies hiring entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians right now include Adventist HealthCare, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital systems, rehabilitation networks, and large multispecialty group practices that can support new physicians with structured onboarding and mentorship.
Are there remote entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physician jobs?
Yes, though most roles in this specialty are clinic- or hospital-based given the hands-on nature of the work. About 4% of entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physician openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote positions typically involving telehealth consultations, care coordination, or utilization review rather than direct procedural care.
Are these new grad physical medicine and rehabilitation physician jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior physical medicine and rehabilitation physician roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of post-residency experience, counts residency rotations or fellowship training toward experience requirements, or explicitly states that new graduates are encouraged to apply. Board eligibility often matters more than years in practice at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians?
Entry Level physical medicine and rehabilitation physician roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they operate large patient volumes in rehabilitation, post-acute, and musculoskeletal care, giving new physicians the case diversity and supervised environment that supports early career development.
