INTRODUCTION
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a full time Ultrasound Tech for our Ultrasound Department. The Ultrasound tech, under the direction of the Director of Radiology/Assistant Director of Radiology or designee, uses the Ultrasound machine and accessories or devices as well as a variety of computer systems to complete imaging studies. Clinical supervision will be provided by a radiologist when needed. Ability to establish contact with patients who may be under physical and emotional stress. Ability to communicate with other staff members involved in the patient's care.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) for Ultrasound.
- Holder of a valid and current:
- Registration by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Must hold the minimum credential of ARDMS(AB).
- Recent graduates or a candidate with minimal experience must at a minimum have passed the physics portion of the ARDMS registry and will be required to get the AB(Abdomen) certificate within 1 year of employment.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year desired but not necessary.
