Urologist Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a urologist in Washington?
Urologists in Washington must hold a valid medical license issued by the Washington Medical Commission, which requires completing medical school, a urology residency, passing USMLE steps, and submitting a state application with verified training records. Board certification through the American Board of Urology is not mandated by the state but is required by virtually every hospital and health system for privileges. Fellowship training in a subspecialty strengthens candidacy at academic centers.
How much do urologists make in Washington?
Urologists in Washington earn a median of about $307,170 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $95,230 for the lowest 10% to over $424,410 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire urologists in Washington?
Employers hiring urologists in Washington right now include PeaceHealth, CommonSpirit Health, and MultiCare Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Washington's integrated health systems and academic medical centers drive consistent demand, with many positions tied to multisite regional practices serving both urban and rural catchment areas across the state.
Which Washington cities have the most urologist jobs?
Olympia, Vancouver, and Washington State account for the largest share of urologist openings in Washington. Seattle dominates because of the concentration of academic medical centers and large integrated systems, while Spokane and Tacoma draw significant volume from regional health networks that anchor specialty care for Eastern Washington and the South Puget Sound corridor respectively.
Are there remote urologist jobs in Washington?
Yes, but they're rare. Urology is a surgical and procedural specialty that requires direct patient care, so the overwhelming majority of roles are on-site. About 50% of urologist openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in telehealth follow-up, administrative leadership, or utilization review rather than clinical practice.
How can I get hired as a urologist in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to large Washington health systems during or immediately after urology residency, as UW Medicine and MultiCare Health System regularly recruit new-graduate urologists into supervised attending roles within their networks. Completing a fellowship adds a competitive edge for positions at academic centers. Candidates without extensive independent experience can also target employed-model group practices affiliated with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, where structured onboarding and mentorship are built into new-hire arrangements.
Where can I find and apply to urologist jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to urologist jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings with Washington employers. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and preferred location, and apply directly to each position.
