Vacation Planner Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vacation planner in Colorado?
Colorado does not require a state-issued license to work as a vacation planner, so the path centers on education and industry credentials. Most employers look for a degree or certificate in tourism, hospitality, or business alongside professional credentials like the Certified Travel Associate designation from The Travel Institute. Building hands-on experience through roles at Colorado travel agencies, resort concierge desks, or corporate travel departments is the most direct route into the field.
Which companies hire vacation planners in Colorado?
Employers hiring vacation planners in Colorado right now include Hilton Grand Vacations, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Colorado's strong outdoor recreation and resort economy means many of the most consistent openings come from mountain resort operators and regional travel agencies serving adventure and luxury travelers.
Which Colorado cities have the most vacation planner jobs?
Denver, Colorado Springs, and Loveland have the most vacation planner openings in Colorado. Denver leads because it serves as the state's corporate travel hub and gateway for international tourism, while Colorado Springs and mountain resort communities like Aspen and Vail generate strong demand through year-round outdoor recreation, ski season traffic, and high-end destination travel operations.
How can I get hired as a vacation planner in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a front-line hospitality or guest services role at a Colorado ski resort, hotel, or visitor center, where you gain direct exposure to travel products and client needs. Vail Resorts and other large Colorado resort operators regularly bring on seasonal guest services staff who move into planning roles over time. Earning the Certified Travel Associate credential and building a portfolio of sample itineraries focused on Colorado destinations gives candidates a meaningful edge over applicants with no formal experience.
Where can I find and apply to vacation planner jobs in Colorado?
