About the Role
We are seeking a Validation Engineer with hands-on experience in plastic injection molding manufacturing within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validation, equipment qualification, process validation, injection molding, statistical/data analysis, and continuous improvement. The hiring team is particularly interested in candidates who also have experience with Power BI and Microsoft Power Automate for manufacturing and validation data analysis, reporting, and process automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and approve IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols for injection molding equipment, automation, and manufacturing processes.
- Lead validation activities for new product introductions, equipment installations, process transfers, and manufacturing changes.
- Validate injection molding processes, including process windows, machine qualifications, tooling, auxiliary equipment, and automation systems.
- Perform FMEA/PFMEA and risk assessments.
- Investigate validation failures, process deviations, and nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze process capability, statistical data, and validation results.
- Support optimization of molding parameters, cycle times, and process performance.
- Support mold qualifications, process characterization, and production readiness.
- Prepare validation protocols, reports, technical documentation, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in FAT/SAT activities as required.
- Ensure validation activities comply with FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, and internal quality standards.
- Support CAPA, NCR, change control, and regulatory audits.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Tooling, Automation, and Regulatory teams.
- Analyze manufacturing and validation data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 3+ years of Validation Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with plastic injection molding process and equipment validation.
- Strong knowledge of IQ/OQ/PQ methodologies and validation lifecycle documentation.
- Experience with process validation and equipment qualification.
- Knowledge of scientific molding principles and process optimization.
- Experience with statistical analysis and process capability studies.
- Knowledge of FMEA/PFMEA and risk management methodologies.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Strong data analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, vision systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, GMP, and GAMP.
- Injection mold qualification, tooling validation, and mold transfer experience.
- Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting CAPA, NCR investigations, and change control.
- Working knowledge of Minitab or other statistical analysis software.
