Maintenance Intern
Functions:
- To Maintain and promote the Tyson Safety culture.
- Receive Training and experience in Maintenance to start your career.
- Perform various duties as required/assigned.
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
Description:
This posting is for a Maintenance Intern position on the Clarksville Complex. This Internship will last for one year. This is a paid position which pays $19.35 per hour. It will be scheduled for 28 hours a week.
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Tasks:
General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Must be willing to set up, adjust and break down production line machinery.
You will learn through first-hand experience about industrial maintenance in a fast-paced, high demand environment. Interns will receive instruction but will also work on the equipment.
Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate with other Team Members, producers, USDA personnel and drivers. Must be able to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.
Must be willing to lift 70 lbs. periodically throughout the shift on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
Safety is always FIRST with Tyson Foods and at Tyson, all Team Members are expected to practice safety standards, policies, and procedures. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
Requirements
All applicants must be graduated or enrolled in an Industrial Maintenance program. C.A.T.S. program students are preferred. Experience and education must be listed on the application or on an attached resume. Please document specific areas of study as related to maintenance education.
