Which companies sponsor visas for ML engineers in Arkansas?
Walmart Technology, headquartered in Bentonville, is the dominant sponsor for ML engineer roles in Arkansas, regularly filing H-1B visa petitions for data science and machine learning positions. Axiom International and smaller retail-tech and supply chain analytics firms in the northwest Arkansas corridor also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as sponsors for these roles.
Which visa types are most common for ML engineer roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for ML engineers in Arkansas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Australians may pursue the E-3 visa instead. Candidates with extraordinary ability sometimes pursue the O-1A, and some roles at research institutions may qualify for J-1 visa or TN visa status depending on the applicant's nationality.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most ML engineer sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville and the broader northwest Arkansas corridor account for the largest share of ML engineer sponsorship activity in the state, driven primarily by Walmart's technology operations and its vendor ecosystem. Fayetteville, home to the University of Arkansas, also generates ML hiring from both the university itself and nearby tech employers. Little Rock has a smaller but active market tied to healthcare IT and state government contractors.
How to find ml engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters ML engineer roles specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can browse Arkansas openings without sorting through positions that won't support your work authorization. Because northwest Arkansas employers like Walmart's tech division post sponsorship-eligible roles regularly, searching Migrate Mate with Arkansas as your location filter surfaces the most relevant active listings for ML engineers seeking sponsorship.
Are there state-specific factors ML engineers should know when pursuing sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas's ML engineer market is heavily concentrated around Walmart's Bentonville campus, which means sponsorship volume is somewhat tied to that single employer's hiring cycles. The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville provides an OPT pipeline that some regional employers are familiar with, making them more comfortable with sponsorship processes. Prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B still apply and are set by Department of Labor data for the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers and Little Rock metropolitan areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ml engineer jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
