Which companies in Arkansas sponsor visas for software architects?
Walmart Technology in Bentonville is the most prominent Arkansas-based sponsor for software architects, given the scale of its global engineering operations. Dillard's in Little Rock, Acxiom, and a number of healthcare IT firms also have H-1B filing histories. Sponsorship availability varies by team, open role, and hiring cycle, so confirming with each employer directly is always necessary.
Which visa types are most common for software architect roles in Arkansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software architects in Arkansas, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates with advanced credentials may also see L-1A or O-1A pathways pursued by employers, though those are less common and depend heavily on individual circumstances and employer preference.
Which cities in Arkansas have the most software architect sponsorship jobs?
Bentonville leads due to Walmart's large and expanding technology campus, which houses thousands of engineers and regularly hires at the architect level. Little Rock follows as the state capital and home to Dillard's headquarters, Acxiom, and several healthcare technology companies. Fayetteville, anchored by the University of Arkansas, supports a smaller but growing tech presence with some sponsoring employers operating nearby.
How to find software architect visa sponsorship jobs in Arkansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search software architect roles in Arkansas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Given that Arkansas sponsoring employers are concentrated in Bentonville, Little Rock, and Fayetteville, filtering by those cities on Migrate Mate helps narrow results to the most active hiring clusters in the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software architects seeking sponsorship in Arkansas?
Arkansas does not have state-level visa programs, so federal H-1B rules apply uniformly. One notable factor is the University of Arkansas pipeline in Fayetteville, which has produced local tech talent and encouraged some regional employers to build sponsorship infrastructure. Prevailing wage requirements for software architects are determined by the DOL based on the job's location, meaning Bentonville roles tied to Walmart often carry higher wage benchmarks than smaller metro positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software architect jobs in Arkansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
