Which companies in Georgia sponsor visas for software architects?
Large employers with established sponsorship track records in Georgia include Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, NCR Voyix, Equifax, and Cox Enterprises, all headquartered in the Atlanta metro area. Global consulting firms like Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant also maintain significant Georgia operations and have consistently filed H-1B petitions for software architect roles. Fintech and healthcare technology companies concentrated in Alpharetta are additional sources of sponsorship activity.
Which visa types are most common for software architect roles in Georgia?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for software architects in Georgia, given that the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B specialized knowledge status with a multinational employer may also transfer to Georgia-based positions. Those with extraordinary ability in software architecture may qualify for the O-1A visa, which has no annual cap or lottery.
Which cities in Georgia have the most software architect sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the vast majority of software architect sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major consulting offices, and a fast-growing technology sector. Alpharetta, often called the Technology City of the South, hosts hundreds of technology and fintech companies and generates consistent demand for senior engineering roles. Decatur and Midtown Atlanta also have notable concentrations, particularly among healthcare IT and financial services employers.
How to find software architect visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for software architect roles in Georgia without sifting through positions that won't support work authorization. You can filter by location, role type, and visa category to focus on employers actively sponsoring in the Atlanta metro and surrounding technology corridors. Migrate Mate's listings are updated regularly to reflect current openings from companies with documented sponsorship histories.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software architects in Georgia?
Georgia does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, but employers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage rules when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B petitions. The Atlanta metro is classified under its own wage determination area, so prevailing wages reflect local market rates for software architect roles. Georgia Tech's strong computer science pipeline and the state's STEM workforce incentives have contributed to a well-established employer base familiar with sponsorship processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software architect jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
