INTRODUCTION
The Apple Services Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the Apple TV, HomePod, App Store, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services. Thanks to Apple’s unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep commitment to strengthening Apple’s privacy policy, one of Apple’s core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple’s business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here. Work and contribute towards the engineering of Apple TV and HomePod technologies in the Apple Services Engineering (ASE) group at Apple.

Which companies in California sponsor visas for iOS software engineers?
Apple, Google, Meta, Snap, Lyft, Airbnb, and Salesforce are among the most active sponsors for iOS engineers in California. Beyond the large tech employers, mid-size product companies and fintech firms in San Francisco and Los Angeles also have consistent H-1B visa sponsorship histories, particularly for mobile-focused engineering roles. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data gives a reliable picture of which employers file regularly.
What visa types are most commonly used for iOS software engineer roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for iOS software engineers in California, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Australian citizens may pursue the E-3 visa as an alternative, which has no lottery. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under the TN visa. Some senior engineers with exceptional credentials explore the O-1A.
Which cities in California have the most iOS software engineer visa sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Cupertino, and Mountain View, accounts for the largest share of iOS engineering sponsorship roles in California. Los Angeles has grown significantly as a mobile and entertainment tech hub, with companies like Snap and TikTok's U.S. operations active there. San Diego has a smaller but steady concentration of sponsored iOS roles tied to defense tech and health tech employers.
How to find ios software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for iOS software engineer roles in California without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, so Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego roles are all browsable separately. For iOS engineers, filtering by mobile or software engineering categories on Migrate Mate surfaces the most relevant sponsored openings.
Are there any California-specific considerations for iOS engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions reflect the state's high cost of living, so offered salaries must meet Department of Labor wage levels specific to the metro area where the role is based, not a national average. California also has strict worker classification laws that can affect contract and staffing arrangements. Many iOS engineers come through university pipelines at UC Berkeley, Stanford, and UCLA, which have established relationships with Bay Area tech sponsors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ios software engineer jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
