Which companies sponsor visas for iOS software engineers in New York?
Large tech employers with significant New York engineering offices, including Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft, regularly sponsor H-1B visas for iOS software engineers. Financial institutions with technology divisions, such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Bloomberg, are also consistent sponsors. New York-based tech companies like Etsy, MongoDB, and Squarespace have established sponsorship track records visible through Department of Labor LCA disclosure data.
Which visa types are most common for iOS software engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for iOS software engineers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa, Canadians and Mexicans may qualify under TN visa status, and those with extraordinary ability may pursue the O-1 visa. Some engineers transition from OPT or STEM OPT while employed at sponsoring companies.
Which cities in New York have the most iOS software engineer sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of iOS software engineer sponsorship jobs in the state, with Manhattan's Midtown and Lower Manhattan tech corridors and the Brooklyn Tech Triangle being the primary hiring hubs. Albany has a smaller presence through state government technology contracts and university-affiliated employers. Buffalo and Rochester have emerging tech scenes but a much smaller volume of iOS-specific sponsorship roles compared to New York City.
How to find ios software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, filtering iOS software engineer roles in New York by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're not sorting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Because iOS engineering roles in New York are competitive, the platform helps you focus on companies with an established H-1B filing history in the city, which is a practical starting signal for where to direct your applications.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for iOS software engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
New York City's high cost of living means the Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for iOS software engineer roles tend to be among the highest in the country, which affects the wage floor employers must commit to in an H-1B Labor Condition Application. New York also has a strong university pipeline, with graduates from NYU, Columbia, and Cornell Tech frequently entering the market on OPT, making employer familiarity with visa transitions relatively common among established tech and finance firms.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ios software engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
