About the Role:
This role is responsible for leading the strategy, governance, and continuous transformation of IT Service Management (ITSM) and Automation across Neurocrine. This role defines and drives company-wide standards, frameworks, and roadmaps for IT service delivery, automation, and technology portfolio optimization. Acts as a recognized subject matter expert, influencing senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align IT capabilities with evolving business needs and industry trends. Special focus on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) management, financial tracking, application rationalization, and automation.
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

Govern the core ITIL practices (Change, Incident, Problem, Service Request and Asset Management, providing oversight and continuous evolution of ITIL practices.

Monitor licenses and contracts for core IT platforms to ensure timely renewal or retirement ahead of expiration dates.

Enter requisitions and contracts for approval and monitor approval progress.

Influence IT investment strategy and cost optimization in partnership with Finance including reviewing, monitoring and tracking department spending.

Accurately update records of software inventory and attributes.

Identify and drive application rationalization efforts and cost savings.

Drive automation strategy and adoption through identifying and implementing low/no code automation across the IT Operations ecosystem.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior IT and business leadership, influencing decisions on technology strategy, investments, and operating models.

Anticipate industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative improvements to IT service delivery and automation.

Define and institutionalize best practices, tools, and operating models for ITSM and automation across the organization.

Lead governance forums and establish decision-making frameworks for prioritization, risk management, and resource allocation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field and 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

ServiceNow certification (Administrator or ITSM Implementation Specialist preferred).

ITIL v4 certification (Foundation required; Intermediate preferred).

8+ years of progressive experience in IT Service Management, IT Operations Governance, or Enterprise IT environments.

Demonstrated ownership of core ITIL practices including Change, Incident, Problem, Service Request, and Asset Management.

Strong understanding of IT governance frameworks (ITIL v4, COBIT, ISO-aligned controls).

Experience operating in a regulated environment (biotech, pharma, healthcare, or similar).

Proven ability to design, improve, and govern ITSM processes within ServiceNow.

Experience managing software licensing, contract renewals, and vendor governance processes.

Strong financial acumen with experience partnering with Finance on budget tracking and spend management.

Experience leading application rationalization or technology portfolio optimization efforts.

Hands-on experience driving automation initiatives across IT operations.

Experience defining enterprise standards, operating models, and governance structures.

Strong understanding of industry trends and ability to translate into strategic initiatives.

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $158,100.00-$216,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
