Which companies sponsor visas for procurement managers in California?
Large California employers with established procurement functions and a track record of visa sponsorship include Apple, Google, Meta, Genentech, Kaiser Permanente, Lockheed Martin, Chevron, and Northrop Grumman. These companies have dedicated immigration teams and file H-1B petitions regularly. Sponsorship is more common at mid-to-large enterprises than at smaller firms, where procurement teams tend to be lean.
Which visa types are most common for procurement manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for procurement managers in California, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as supply chain management, business, or engineering. Candidates already holding TN, L-1, or O-1 status may also find opportunities. Procurement roles increasingly require specialized technical knowledge, which strengthens the specialty occupation case for H-1B petitions.
How to find procurement manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse procurement manager roles in California without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by location within California, including Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego markets, and see which employers are actively hiring international candidates for supply chain and procurement functions.
Which cities in California have the most procurement manager sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area leads, driven by procurement needs at major tech companies in San Jose, Sunnyvale, and San Francisco itself. Los Angeles is strong for aerospace and entertainment industry supply chains, with employers like Raytheon and Boeing operating large procurement teams. San Diego has a concentrated biotech and defense manufacturing base. Sacramento also has procurement roles tied to state government contractors and agriculture.
Are there any California-specific considerations for procurement manager sponsorship candidates?
California's Department of Industrial Relations sets prevailing wage benchmarks that interact with federal H-1B wage requirements, so employers must meet whichever standard is higher. The state's concentration of tech, defense, and life sciences employers means procurement roles often require domain-specific expertise, such as semiconductor sourcing or FDA-regulated supply chains, which can strengthen a specialty occupation determination and make sponsorship more straightforward to justify.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
