Which companies sponsor visas for AI ML engineers in Colorado?
Several large employers in Colorado have established track records of sponsoring work visas for AI and ML engineers. Google's Boulder office, Amazon Web Services, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Oracle all appear in Department of Labor LCA filings for AI and ML-related roles in the state. Smaller Denver-based tech companies and defense contractors also sponsor, though less frequently and with more variable processes.
Which visa types are most common for AI ML engineer roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for AI and ML engineers in Colorado, as these roles typically require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary recognition in the field may qualify for the O-1A. Some Canadian and Mexican nationals working in AI roles pursue the TN visa under the engineer or scientist category.
How to find ai ml engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters AI and ML engineer job listings specifically to Colorado and flags roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through hundreds of general postings, you can focus on Colorado-based AI and ML positions from companies that have filed LCAs for similar roles. This saves significant time compared to manually cross-referencing job boards with Department of Labor disclosure data.
Which cities in Colorado have the most AI ML engineer sponsorship jobs?
Denver and Boulder account for the large majority of AI and ML engineer visa sponsorship activity in Colorado. Boulder benefits from proximity to CU Boulder's computer science and data science programs, attracting research-oriented roles. Denver's broader tech and defense contractor presence drives higher overall hiring volume. Colorado Springs also has sponsorship activity, primarily through defense and aerospace employers like Northrop Grumman and L3Harris.
Are there state-specific factors that affect AI ML engineer visa sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's strong aerospace and defense sector means a meaningful share of AI and ML roles require security clearances, which can complicate or effectively exclude sponsorship for international candidates without existing work authorization. The state's active university ecosystem, particularly CU Boulder's OPT pipeline, means many employers are already familiar with visa sponsorship for technical roles. Prevailing wage requirements for Colorado metros are set by the Department of Labor and apply to all H-1B filings statewide.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ai ml engineer jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
