Which companies sponsor visas for cloud software engineers in Colorado?
Google, Amazon, Oracle, and Microsoft have established engineering offices in Colorado and regularly sponsor H-1B visas for cloud software engineers. Beyond the large tech players, companies like Palantir in Denver and several cloud-focused defense contractors in Colorado Springs have consistent sponsorship histories. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for Colorado-based filings shows which employers file most frequently for this specific role.
Which visa types are most common for cloud software engineer roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud software engineers in Colorado, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa. Candidates with multinational employer transfers may qualify for the L-1B visa for specialized knowledge workers.
Which cities in Colorado have the most cloud software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Denver and Boulder account for the largest share of cloud software engineer sponsorship activity in Colorado. Denver hosts regional headquarters for Amazon Web Services, Oracle, and several enterprise SaaS companies. Boulder has a dense concentration of cloud-native startups and attracts strong university talent from the University of Colorado. Colorado Springs is a secondary market, particularly for cloud engineers in aerospace and defense.
How to find cloud software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find cloud software engineer roles in Colorado where employers have confirmed they sponsor. Rather than sifting through general job boards, you can search directly for Colorado-based cloud engineering positions where sponsorship is part of the offer, saving significant time during what is often an urgent job search.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for cloud software engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives visa-seeking engineers useful transparency when evaluating whether a role meets prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The University of Colorado and Colorado State University also produce consistent pipelines of engineering graduates, meaning competition for entry-level sponsorship roles in Denver and Boulder can be meaningful.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud software engineer jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
