Which companies and institutions sponsor visas for nursing instructors in Colorado?
The most active sponsors for nursing instructor roles in Colorado are universities and large health systems. The University of Colorado College of Nursing, Colorado State University, Regis University, UCHealth, and Children's Hospital Colorado have all sponsored H-1B or J-1 visas for nursing faculty positions. Community colleges with nursing programs, such as Front Range Community College, also periodically sponsor international candidates for instructor roles.
Which visa types are most common for nursing instructor roles in Colorado?
H-1B is the most common visa for nursing instructors in Colorado, as faculty roles at accredited colleges and universities typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a master's degree in nursing. J-1 Exchange Visitor visas are also used, particularly at academic medical centers with formal exchange programs. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories are relevant for candidates pursuing permanent positions through employer-sponsored green card processes.
Which cities in Colorado have the most nursing instructor sponsorship jobs?
Denver and Aurora together account for the largest share of nursing instructor sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and affiliated health systems. Colorado Springs has openings tied to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and UCCS nursing programs. Fort Collins sees demand through Colorado State University, and Pueblo and Grand Junction offer positions through smaller regional programs with growing nursing education needs.
How to find nursing instructor visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for nursing instructor roles in Colorado to see positions at institutions that have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. This saves significant time compared to manually reviewing job postings and researching each employer's sponsorship practices separately. Creating a Migrate Mate profile keeps you updated as new Colorado nursing instructor sponsorship postings go live.
What state-specific factors should nursing instructors know before pursuing sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado requires nursing instructors at accredited programs to hold at least a master's degree in nursing, and many university positions expect doctoral preparation, which directly affects H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. The state's nursing shortage has increased institutional willingness to sponsor international faculty, particularly in clinical simulation and graduate-level teaching. Colorado's prevailing wage requirements for sponsored positions are set by the Department of Labor and vary by role level and geographic area within the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nursing instructor jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
