Which companies sponsor visas for development coordinators in Florida?
Florida nonprofits, university foundations, and healthcare systems are among the most active sponsors for development coordinator roles. Organizations like the University of Miami, AdventHealth, Moffitt Cancer Center, and larger community foundations have filed for work visas on behalf of development staff. Sponsorship is not guaranteed, and willingness varies by organization size, budget, and whether the role meets specialty occupation standards.
Which visa types are most common for development coordinator roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for development coordinators in Florida, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as communications, nonprofit management, or business. Some employers, particularly universities and research institutions, may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B sponsors. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role qualifies under eligible USMCA categories. O-1 visas are an option for individuals with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in their field.
Which cities in Florida have the most development coordinator sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for development coordinator sponsorship opportunities, driven by its dense concentration of nonprofits, international organizations, and major hospital networks. Orlando follows, with sponsoring employers in healthcare, tourism-adjacent nonprofits, and higher education. Tampa has a growing presence through organizations like the Moffitt Cancer Center and University of South Florida. Gainesville and Tallahassee also generate openings through their flagship university foundations.
How to find development coordinator visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to find development coordinator roles in Florida where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can browse Florida-specific development coordinator openings on Migrate Mate and focus your applications on organizations already open to sponsoring international candidates.
Are there state-specific considerations for development coordinator sponsorship in Florida?
Florida's large nonprofit sector, driven by healthcare, arts, and social services, creates consistent demand for development coordinators statewide. Employers sponsoring H-1B visas must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location, which varies between Miami, Orlando, and smaller metro areas. University-affiliated development offices at schools like the University of Florida or Florida State University may qualify as cap-exempt H-1B sponsors, which can simplify the filing timeline compared to for-profit employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development coordinator jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
