Which companies sponsor visas for dietitians in Florida?
Large health systems are the most active sponsors for dietitian roles in Florida. AdventHealth, HCA Florida Healthcare, BayCare Health System, and the Department of Veterans Affairs have all filed Labor Condition Applications for dietitian positions in recent years. Long-term care operators and dialysis providers like DaVita and Fresenius Kidney Care also sponsor international dietitians, particularly for clinical and renal nutrition roles.
Which visa types are most common for dietitian roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa for dietitians in Florida, as registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field. The EB-3 employment-based green card is a common immigrant pathway, often used by hospitals willing to sponsor long-term. Some positions at VA medical centers may be accessible through different federal hiring channels.
Which cities in Florida have the most dietitian sponsorship jobs?
Orlando, Tampa, and Miami concentrate the most dietitian sponsorship activity in Florida, driven by their large hospital networks and high patient volumes. Jacksonville also has a notable presence through Mayo Clinic Florida and the local VA system. Smaller markets like Gainesville, anchored by UF Health, and Sarasota also see periodic sponsorship, particularly for clinical inpatient and outpatient roles.
How to find dietitian visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship jobs, including dietitian roles in Florida. You can filter by state and job category to surface employers with a documented history of sponsoring international workers. Because Florida's healthcare market is large and decentralized, using a focused tool like Migrate Mate helps avoid wading through postings from employers who don't sponsor.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for international dietitians seeking sponsorship?
Florida requires dietitians to hold a state license through the Florida Department of Health before practicing, which means credentialing should run in parallel with any sponsorship process. International candidates with degrees from outside the United States typically need a credential evaluation accepted by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Florida's large Spanish-speaking population also makes bilingual dietitians particularly attractive to health systems in Miami-Dade and Orlando.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored dietitian jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
