Search Technology Jobs in FloridaTechnology Green Card Sponsorship Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
Which technology companies in Florida sponsor Green Card visas?
Several large technology and tech-adjacent employers in Florida have documented histories of filing Green Card petitions, including Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, Chewy's technology division in Dania Beach, Ultimate Kronos Group in Weston, and tech-forward defense contractors in the Orlando area. Larger enterprise software, fintech, and aerospace technology firms tend to have the internal HR infrastructure to manage multi-year Green Card processes more consistently than startups.
Which cities in Florida have the most technology Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida's technology hiring and draws the highest concentration of sponsored technology roles, particularly in fintech, software engineering, and cybersecurity. Tampa follows closely, with a growing cluster of SaaS companies, healthcare technology firms, and defense contractors. Orlando supports significant technology employment tied to simulation, aerospace, and hospitality technology. Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville also host notable technology employers with active sponsorship programs.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Florida?
Software engineers, data scientists, cloud architects, cybersecurity analysts, machine learning engineers, and DevOps specialists are among the technology roles most commonly sponsored for Green Cards in Florida. These positions generally qualify under EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based categories, which require the employer to complete PERM labor certification demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available for the role.
How do I find technology Green Card sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by Florida, the technology industry, and Green Card sponsorship to see verified roles from employers with active sponsorship programs. Unlike general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where visa sponsorship is explicitly part of the offer, saving time you'd otherwise spend qualifying employers one by one across dozens of separate postings.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for technology Green Card sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects overall compensation structuring but does not change federal Green Card requirements. Florida's technology sector includes a high proportion of defense contractors and aerospace firms, many of which have security clearance requirements that can complicate or restrict sponsorship for certain roles. International candidates should verify clearance eligibility early in the process, as some positions are restricted to U.S. citizens or permanent residents by contract or statute.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card technology jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
