Which companies sponsor visas for ML software engineers in Florida?
Several Florida-based employers have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for ML software engineers. These include Chewy (Dania Beach), Ultimate Kronos Group (Weston), Modernizing Medicine (Boca Raton), and defense contractors Lockheed Martin and Raytheon in the Orlando area. Large financial institutions with Florida offices, such as Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase, also sponsor ML engineering talent through H-1B petitions.
Which visa types are most common for ML software engineer roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for ML software engineers in Florida, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation requirement given its reliance on advanced mathematics, computer science, or statistics degrees. Candidates with exceptional records in ML research or publications may also pursue the O-1A. Australians in the field can consider the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
Which cities in Florida have the most ML software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for ML engineering sponsorship activity, driven by its fintech, healthtech, and enterprise software sectors. Orlando follows closely, anchored by defense and simulation technology firms. Tampa's emerging tech scene, particularly in cybersecurity and financial services, is growing. Boca Raton and the broader South Florida corridor also attract ML roles through healthcare IT companies like Modernizing Medicine.
How to find ml software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters ML software engineer roles by state, including Florida. Rather than sifting through general job postings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers with active sponsorship histories. Filtering by Florida and the ML engineering role category on Migrate Mate narrows your search to relevant, sponsorship-confirmed opportunities.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for ML software engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages but does not change federal prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. Florida's university pipeline, particularly from the University of Florida, Florida International University, and UCF, creates strong local ML talent competition. International candidates on OPT or STEM OPT should be aware that Florida's largest sponsoring employers tend to concentrate in South Florida and the I-4 corridor.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ml software engineer jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
