Which companies sponsor visas for servers in Florida?
Large hospitality operators with established HR and legal infrastructure are the most likely sponsors. In Florida, that includes Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, Marriott and Hilton-branded resort properties, Darden Restaurants (Olive Garden, Seasons 52), and major cruise lines with shoreside dining operations. Smaller independent restaurants rarely have the legal resources to manage the sponsorship process.
What visa types are most common for server roles in Florida?
The H-2B visa is the most common path for servers in Florida. It covers temporary, seasonal hospitality workers and fits Florida's peak tourism seasons well. The H-1B is not applicable to server roles, which are not classified as specialty occupations. Some candidates working for international hotel groups may have access to L-1 pathways, but these require prior employment with the same company abroad.
Which cities in Florida have the most server sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads by volume due to its theme park and convention center ecosystem, which generates year-round demand for food and beverage staff. Miami and Miami Beach follow, driven by luxury hotels, high-volume restaurants, and international tourism. Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, and Naples also see consistent demand, particularly from resort properties catering to seasonal visitors.
How to find server visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter by state and role to surface server positions in Florida posted by employers with a history of sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually vetting postings, since not every hospitality job listing in Florida will include sponsorship as an option.
Are there any Florida-specific considerations for servers seeking visa sponsorship?
Florida's hospitality industry follows a distinct seasonal pattern, with demand peaking November through April in most markets. H-2B petitions are tied to specific employment start dates and seasonal justifications, so timing your application to match an employer's peak season matters. Florida's high concentration of international hotel brands also means some properties are more experienced with the sponsorship process than others.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored server jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
