Which companies sponsor visas for construction managers in Georgia?
Atlanta-based general contractors with active international hiring include Holder Construction, Brasfield & Gorrie, Skanska USA, and Turner Construction. Large commercial developers and engineering firms operating in Georgia's infrastructure and industrial sectors have also filed H-1B visa petitions for construction manager roles. Sponsorship activity tends to be higher at firms managing multi-year, large-scale commercial or public works projects.
Which visa types are most common for construction manager roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for construction managers in Georgia, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field. The O-1A is an option for candidates with documented extraordinary achievement. Some multinational firms use the L-1A for managers transferring from overseas offices to Georgia operations.
Which cities in Georgia have the most construction manager sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of construction manager sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its density of corporate headquarters, major contractors, and ongoing mixed-use and infrastructure development. Savannah is a secondary market with growth tied to port expansion and industrial construction. Augusta and Columbus have smaller but active markets, particularly for healthcare and government-related construction projects.
How to find construction manager visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters construction manager openings in Georgia specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. Search by city or project type to find opportunities with Atlanta's major general contractors and development firms. Creating an alert on Migrate Mate ensures you see new Georgia construction manager postings as they appear, which matters in a market where roles fill quickly.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for construction manager visa sponsorship?
Employers in Georgia must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific location and job title listed on the H-1B Labor Condition Application. Atlanta's prevailing wages for construction managers reflect a higher-cost metropolitan market compared to rural Georgia counties. Georgia Tech's construction engineering pipeline also means some Georgia employers are accustomed to sponsoring graduates, which can work in favor of candidates from internationally recognized programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction manager jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
