AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
The Power & Cooling (PAC) team is seeking a senior leader to build and run the Post-Delivery organization — one of the three pillars of PAC Supply Chain Operations — accountable for getting every piece of Long Lead Equipment (LLE) from delivery through successful, on-time Power Facilities Hand Off (PFHO) at the scale AWS now builds. This is a broad, high-visibility leadership role: you will stand up a brand-new organization, lead leaders, set multi-year strategy, and own the outcome that gates every data center going live. The successful candidate is an experienced people leader who can operate at the strategic level with executives and across functions, while building the team, the mechanisms, and the culture that make on-time PFHO repeatable.
As the leader of the Power and Cooling Post-Delivery organization, you will build and manage a team across multiple areas — across Inventory and Logistics, Field Service and Commissioning Support, the Critical Spare Parts program, and post-delivery Global Supply Managers (GSMs) — responsible for commissioning readiness and issue resolution across global operation. This organization owns the end-to-end (E2E) lifecycle of every piece of equipment from delivery through PFHO. Your primary responsibility is to drive successful, on-time PFHO on a global scale and to develop the leaders and the organization that deliver it — hiring and growing, setting a single strategy and quantifiable goals, and representing Post-Delivery to senior leadership and to partner organizations across Construction, Technical Infrastructure Program Managers (TIPMs), Design, Category Management, and suppliers.
This is a transformational, build-it mandate rather than a steady-state operations job. Today post-delivery work is scattered across functions as a part-time responsibility; you will consolidate it into one accountable organization, set its operating model, and raise its performance as AWS scales — exercising the judgment to decide where to invest, what to escalate, and how to influence the functions upstream and downstream of you.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own projects through completion.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and build the organization — Hire, develop, and lead a team. Set direction and quantifiable goals, build the bench and succession for a largely new team, and establish a single, teachable standard of execution in place of individual improvisation. Developing leaders and growing the organization is the central, not peripheral, part of this role.
- Own on-time PFHO as a single-threaded leader — Carry end-to-end accountability for commissioning outcomes from delivery through PFHO, and be the senior escalation point and first line of defense for post-delivery construction and commissioning issues across the global build.
- Set the strategy — Own a multi-year Post-Delivery strategy anchored on a Site Equipment commissioning-readiness framework, deciding where to concentrate commissioning enablers (Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support and retainers, equipment and inventory redundancy, third-party field service, critical spare parts, and selective direct hires) against site and equipment criticality, and refreshing that strategy as the build evolves.
- Represent Post-Delivery to senior leadership — Communicate strategy, risk, and trade-offs concisely to executives; secure investment and air cover for cross-organizational moves; and influence partner organizations across Construction, TIPMs, Design, Category Management, and suppliers through authority and credibility rather than direct control.
- Run the operating mechanisms — Install the operating rhythm, metrics, and risk-management mechanisms that make on-time PFHO repeatable: forward-looking readiness over point-of-failure firefighting, a dynamic risk register across sites and suppliers, and feedback loops that drive recurring problems to their source.
- Scale what works and return capacity to partners — Scale proven commissioning programs (a supplier-managed Critical Spare Parts crash-cart, a Commissioning Success Scorecard, and Field Service Resource heatmaps) across the full supply base, and consolidate commissioning-phase ownership so Delivery GSMs regain the capacity for the sourcing and negotiation work only they can do.
- Success in this role directly impacts AWS’s ability to deliver data centers on schedule, measured by on-time PFHO, the health and growth of the organization you build, and the maturity of the mechanisms that sustain performance as the business scales.
A day in the life
- Set direction for your leaders, coach team.
- Communicate ideas concisely to a wide variety of stakeholders, for purposes ranging from informative to securing investment and approvals from executives.
- Embody a true pioneering spirit, willing to “get your hands dirty” in a start-up environment while simultaneously developing the strategy, processes, automation, and people that deliver results.
- Weigh competing priorities across many sites and suppliers, exercising high judgment on where to invest, what to escalate, and how to influence partners upstream and downstream.
- Develop and train leaders and teams to improve skills and capabilities for sustainable and continuous improvement.

Search Construction Manager Jobs in WashingtonConstruction Manager Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for construction managers in Washington?
Large general contractors with Washington operations are the most common sponsors, including Skanska, Turner Construction, Mortenson, and Clark Construction. Federal and public infrastructure programs also generate sponsorship activity through firms holding long-term government contracts. Firms managing large-scale commercial or transit projects in the Seattle-Bellevue corridor tend to sponsor more consistently than smaller regional contractors.
Which visa types are most common for construction manager roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for construction managers in Washington, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture. The TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying degrees. Some senior professionals with exceptional records may explore the O-1 visa category.
Which cities in Washington have the most construction manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Bellevue account for the majority of construction manager sponsorship activity in Washington, driven by ongoing commercial towers, mixed-use developments, and light rail expansion under Sound Transit. Tacoma and Spokane see activity tied to public infrastructure and healthcare facility construction. Redmond and Kirkland also generate demand linked to tech campus build-outs for employers like Microsoft.
How to find construction manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search construction manager roles in Washington without sorting through positions that won't support your visa. The platform surfaces employers actively sponsoring in the state, which is particularly useful given that sponsorship willingness varies significantly between large general contractors and smaller local firms operating in Washington.
Are there state-specific considerations for construction managers seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington requires construction managers on H-1B visas to be paid at least the prevailing wage for the role and location, as certified through a Labor Condition Application filed with the Department of Labor. Seattle's prevailing wage levels are among the highest in the country due to the city's cost of living. Washington also has active union agreements on public projects that can affect job structure and employer sponsorship decisions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored construction manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
