You will act as a subject matter expert in capital projects by advising our clients through the full capital value chain including design & engineering, contracting & procurement, project execution, and commissioning. You will provide expertise and guidance to teams implementing new technology, establishing project governance, creating processes, and improving capital project returns. You will be based in one of our North America offices as part of McKinsey’s Capital Excellence service line. McKinsey's Capital Excellence service line assists our clients in solving the world's toughest problems. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our consultants and experts work to develop and implement operational strategies that solve our clients' most critical problems on a global scale. Capital Excellence is a rapidly growing service line with deep functional expertise in capital allocation and portfolio optimization, business case, concept/design optimization, procurement and contracting, construction, commissioning and ramp-up, and capital organizational capabilities. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Undergraduate degree in engineering; advanced degree or MBA is preferred
- 15+ years of post-graduate work experience with a distinctive record of achievement and impact
- Significant construction experience with an EPC
- Experience working on large-sized projects
- Willingness to travel up to 80%
