INTRODUCTION
At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good. We challenge what is currently accepted, so we can shape innovative and lasting solutions for tomorrow. Jacobs has been ENR ranked #1 globally in water/wastewater treatment and conveyance engineering design for decades. #1 out of the Top 500 Design Firms for the sixth consecutive year, and #1 in program management for a third consecutive year. We have led the digital water transformation sector for over 10 years and pioneered the first digital twin of an entire wastewater treatment plant. We are strong in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data and have a strategic partnership with Palantir to reduce O&M costs at treatment plants. We have the best infrastructure for design and the deepest technical resources in the industry to support you and the success of your projects. We have an inclusive, family oriented, small company like culture, but with the resources and financial strength of a large global company.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be a key member of our New England Water team and have the chance to work on challenging water/wastewater treatment and conveyance projects - planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with increasing degrees of technical complexity from the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. You will be leading multidiscipline design teams to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. We’d look to you to support clients through the life of a project from studies, planning, design, compliance and permitting, construction as well as start-up.
Your primary focus will include:
- Develop and execute high-impact client engagement strategies and comprehensive pursuit plans focused on securing new water and wastewater business throughout the New England region.
- Align and integrate local business development activities with Jacobs' overarching global strategies and technology initiatives, ensuring a consistent, high-value proposition.
- Manage regional business development budgets and investment costs to maximize ROI and strategic market penetration.
- Serve as a highly visible executive advocate for Jacobs by actively participating in professional industry organizations (e.g., NEWEA, AWWA) and influential community forums.
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary project teams—from technical staff to subconsultants to deliver superior technical solutions and meet client and contractual requirements.
- Drive and manage all phases of complex proposal efforts, including developing winning technical approaches and leading high-stakes client presentations.
- Be accountable for the overall financial performance and profitability of projects within your assigned client portfolio.
- Proactively use Jacobs' enterprise-wide sales and delivery tools to ensure repeatable, best-in-class project execution and client experience.
- Negotiate and resolve critical commercial and technical issues with clients, teaming partners, and external stakeholders to de-risk projects and secure successful outcomes.
- Contribute technical expertise and strategic insight to individual projects, meeting agreed-upon billable utilization targets to maintain technical currency.
- Foster routine coordination and knowledge sharing with other regional Client Relationship Leaders and internal business units to facilitate resource sharing and meet broader business objectives.
This is a highly visible and critical leadership position within Jacobs. Your focus will be to drive growth around specific opportunities within the Water Market for clients including but not limited to MWRA, Boston Water & Sewer Commission, etc. You’ll lead capture teams influencing their sales process discipline, and develop and deliver win strategies, proposals, interviews, and presentations.

Which companies sponsor visas for project leaders in New Hampshire?
Defense and technology contractors are the most active sponsors in New Hampshire. BAE Systems in Nashua, Segra International, and Oracle's regional operations have histories of H-1B sponsorship for project management roles. Healthcare systems like Dartmouth Health and hospital networks based in Manchester also sponsor project leaders, particularly for technology implementation and operational improvement roles.
Which visa types are most common for project leader roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project leaders in New Hampshire, provided the role meets the specialty occupation standard, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific technical or business discipline. L-1A intracompany transferee visas apply when a candidate moves from an overseas office to a New Hampshire location. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most project leader sponsorship jobs?
Nashua and Manchester account for the majority of project leader sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua's Route 3 corridor hosts defense, aerospace, and semiconductor-adjacent firms, while Manchester functions as the state's commercial hub with healthcare, finance, and technology employers. Portsmouth and Dover in the seacoast region offer secondary opportunities, particularly in maritime technology and biotech.
How to find project leader visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it easier to identify project leader openings in New Hampshire without sifting through roles that won't consider international candidates. Because New Hampshire's market is smaller than Boston's, setting alerts for the state is worthwhile since relevant sponsored roles appear less frequently and move quickly once posted.
Are there any state-specific considerations for project leaders pursuing sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since take-home pay differs from neighboring states. The state's close proximity to the Boston metro means many employers benchmark compensation against Massachusetts standards. International candidates should also note that New Hampshire's relatively small labor market means fewer USCIS filings overall, so employer willingness to sponsor varies significantly by company size and sector.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project leader jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
