Which companies sponsor visas for software quality engineers in Georgia?
Georgia's largest visa sponsors for software quality engineers include NCR Voyix, Global Payments, Cox Enterprises, Intellicheck, and Honeywell's Atlanta operations. Consulting firms like Infosys and Wipro, which maintain significant Georgia presences, also sponsor QA engineers regularly. Defense contractors around Warner Robins and Marietta, including Lockheed Martin and L3Harris, hire QA engineers but typically require candidates to be eligible for security clearances.
Which visa types are most common for software quality engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software quality engineers in Georgia, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Employers also sponsor L-1B transfers for QA engineers moving from international offices. Candidates with advanced degrees sometimes pursue EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through Georgia-based employers after initial H-1B approval.
Which cities in Georgia have the most software quality engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of software quality engineer sponsorship roles in Georgia, particularly in the Midtown, Buckhead, and Alpharetta corridors where fintech and enterprise software companies cluster. Alpharetta is often called Georgia's technology city and hosts numerous QA-heavy software firms. Smaller concentrations exist in Augusta, driven by cybersecurity and government IT contractors, and in Savannah, where logistics technology companies are growing.
How to find software quality engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to search software quality engineer roles in Georgia without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, including Atlanta, Alpharetta, and other Georgia metros. Migrate Mate focuses on international candidates, so the listings are curated for people who need employer-sponsored H-1B or similar work authorization rather than general job seekers.
Are there any Georgia-specific factors software quality engineers should know about visa sponsorship?
Georgia's fintech and payments industry, centered in Atlanta, creates consistent QA demand and a relatively employer-friendly sponsorship environment compared to markets dominated by a single sector. Georgia Tech produces a strong local pipeline of software engineering graduates, which means international candidates benefit from positioning specialized skills in test automation frameworks like Selenium or Cypress, or domain expertise in payments and healthcare IT, where competition with local graduates is less direct.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
